Terms

These terms are between you and Aside ("we"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our privacy policy.

The service

Aside records and transcribes meetings on your Mac, helps you plan for them, offers suggestions while they happen and writes them up afterwards. We may improve or change features over time, and will tell you before removing anything you pay for.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Keep your account secure and tell us if you think someone else has used it.

Trial, payment and cancelling

• Aside has a free plan. New accounts also get 14 days of paid features. We will not charge you unless you choose a paid plan.
• Plans renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel in Settings.
• Monthly plans run to the end of the paid month. Yearly plans can be refunded in full within 30 days of payment.
• We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change.

Recording and consent

Many places require everyone in a conversation to agree before it is recorded. You are responsible for telling the people you record and getting consent where it is required, and for following your employer's rules.

Your content

Your recordings, transcripts, notes and plans belong to you. You give us permission to process them only as needed to provide Aside to you. We do not use them to train AI models.

AI suggestions

Suggestions, answers and summaries are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before relying on it, and do not use Aside as a substitute for legal, financial or medical advice.

Acceptable use

Do not use Aside to record people unlawfully, to break the law or someone else's rights, to cheat in exams, interviews or assessments where AI help is not allowed, or to interfere with or reverse engineer the service.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Liability

Aside is provided as is, to the extent the law allows. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We will tell you in the app before material changes take effect. Questions go to hello@asidehq.app.
